Ocean Choice is the first fishing company in Canada, and is currently the only fishing company in North America, to be certified by Green Marine.

The Green Marine certification is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the people working across the entire company – in our processing facilities, on our vessels, and in our offices. We all believe in and stand behind our responsibility to the marine environment. Without this deep commitment, certifications such as Green Marine would not be possible.

As a business entirely dependent on a healthy ocean, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Without a healthy ocean, there wouldn’t be a future for our business and our 1,500 employees.

About Green Marine

Green Marine is a voluntary environmental certification program for the North American marine industry. The program aims to guide the industry towards environmental excellence by encouraging maritime enterprises to adopt concrete, measurable actions that go beyond regulatory obligations.

The program covers maritime activities and related land-based operations, which encompasses several types of maritime enterprises, including ports, the Seaway corporations, ship owners, terminals, and shipyards in North America. The program deals specifically with issues such as biodiversity protection, air, water, and soil quality, and community relations.
