Governance and Compliance

Holding ourselves to the highest standards.

Ocean Choice holds firm to our principles, and we’re committed to complying with the laws that govern our activities. Our policies and compliance documents ensure that these standards are clearly defined, and they are a reference for all Ocean Choice employees, suppliers, and customers.

As responsible seafood producers, we understand that feeding future generations depends on what we do today. We are dedicated to our role as environmental stewards, and through our many certifications and partnerships with research institutions, we continue to set the highest standards for responsible harvesting and sustainable processes across our operations.

We hold third party certifications across our operations. These certifications are achieved by implementing the relevant standards before being audited and assessed against stringent criteria.

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking

Ocean Choice has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery, child labour and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically correct, with integrity and transparency in all aspects of our business and we are committed to implementing effective due diligence and controls to safeguard against modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and operations.

Our comment extends beyond Ocean Choice’s operations. We hold our supply chains and partners to the highest standards, ensuring that they do not engage in any form of modern slavery, child labour and human trafficking. To support our suppliers we established new policies, including a new Supplier Code of Conduct and a Forced and Child Labour in Supply Chain Policy and we also updated our existing Ethical Trading Policy.

In 2024, as part of our commitment to ensuring the integrity of our supply chain, we administered a Supply Chain Questionnaire which we are committed to issuing as part of our ongoing operations annually.

Also, in accordance with Bill S-211 – An Act to enact the Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act, Ocean Choice has also published an Annual Report outlining our compliance with the Government of Canada’s Bill S-211.
